These scones don’t need any added sugar as they taste sweet from the sultanas. Makes 8.
250g self-raising flour
50g margarine
150ml semi-skimmed milk
75g sultanas
Rub the flour and margarine together, stir in the milk and add the raisins. Divide the mixture into 8. Make them into evenly shaped balls and place onto a greased baking tray – spacing them out as they should expand during cooking. Bake for 12-15 mins at 220 C until lightly golden in colour.
Replace the sultanas with raisins if you wish.
