350g rhubarb
350g cooking apples
100g wholemeal flour (or use half with half white flour)
40g margarine
100g sugar
60g oats
Firstly part cook the rhubarb in a saucepan. Wash the rhubarb stalks and cut into chunks. Place in pan with a few tablespoons of water and a heaped tablespoon of sugar. Next add the apple after cutting it into similar sized chunks as the rhubarb. Once the fruit is softened place in an oven dish and make the topping. In a mixing bowl rub the margarine and the flour together using your fingers until it looks like breadcrumbs. Add the remaining sugar and the oats and mix in with a wooden spoon. Put the crumble mix over the fruit then cook in the oven for 15-20 mins at 190C until golden brown.
